So, the ski vacation is coming to an end. There is this melancholy that hits me at the end of these vacations. Perhaps it is the sudden drop in adrenalin after 6 days of snowboarding or just the groan of a dreaded return to work on Monday. In any case, despite my less than positive post a few days back, this was a nice break. Up to today when the snow got soupy, the ski conditions were ideal: cold, powdery snow, beautiful blue skies, and loads of sunshine. The Club has been ok. After Monday, the food quality dropped considerably but the kids have had a good time and we profited from La Baita at noon to make up for the lousy dinners. One morning, my daughter was eating jam out of a little jar with her spoon. We asked her to put the jam on her bread and eat it that way. Well, she placed the little jar on her bread and continued spooning it down. Hilarious! As for my son, the ski lessons have been a bit, well, challenging. He has a hard time with the chasse-neige (don’t know the English word) and gets a little grumpy about it. So, perhaps he is not going to be the next Olympic slalom champion. I think he is impatient to surf with me but he has a couple years to go for that.
So, tomorrow is the TGV back to Paris. I hope to finish Rescue S01 and report on that by Sunday. In the meantime, have a great weekend o reader of mine!
