Sorry for just getting back to you now, but I was going through revision and noticed three more nice words. What model does Apple System Profiler report your Macbook is, e.g. MacBook3,2 (or a family #). This will help me diagnose why your fans may be spinning faster. It’s possible that the increased power load is drawing more heat to cool, but MOST heat is generated from the GPU and CPU, so that is unlikely. This is certainly a curiosity! Is the drive grounded out well?
