My long road to Web 2.0

In an effort to update my brain to the new millenium, I have been heavily investing this summer in getting up to speed with what I perceive as Web 2.0 stuff. Here’s where I have gotten to so far:

1/ RSS feeds: I aggregated all my RSS feeds (and by degrees of separation by links on those feeds and blogs) into NetNewsReader (reminds me that I have to sync to GoogleReader too probably). It took a while. Now I have to figure out to tag ’em. Currently, I am using folders, perhaps there’s a better way?

2/ Social bookmarking: I also took almost 2 days to hone and massage my bookmarks into del.icio.us including getting the tag cloud just right (http://del.icio.us/mfinocchiaro). I also updated this over in my Facebook profile (michael.finocchiaro). What was painful is that the interface offered by del.icio.us/Yahoo! is crap and only allows one tag entry or bookmark delete at a time so the processing of about 900 bookmarks was time-consuming.

3/ Ordered Web 2.0: A Strategy Guide to see what other stuff I missed and see how I can get a little more saavy…

comments welcome 🙂
