This class was so interesting these last two days. I took an “Keys of Marketing” class from the Institut Superieure de Marketing and really enjoyed it. The teacher, Michel DUCAMUS was excellent – funny, extremely knowledgeable and full of war stories. Very rare for a French instructor let me assure you! I didn’t realize how many sub-categories there were in marketing. And all this time I thought that marketing was just overpaid blowhards. Far be it from the truth! Well, at least in theory, there is analysis to do in the Diagnostic phase as well as lots of decision making and needs matching during the other phases. Of course, the most fun part is the communications bit but here too, it gets very technical when you are dealing with verbal vs. non-verbal communication in particular. I am really fascinated and will probably read the books that the teacher referred to, in particular Marketing Management which seems to be a low-hanging fruit. Thanks Michel!
